It has been mentioned by a few friends that I should start my own blog. I always refused mostly because I don't even have time to do the things I am supposed to do on my computer, I didn't think I needed another distraction.
If you are reading this and I haven't talked to you in a while, Mark Emily and I are on a trip to Europe for 5 weeks. We just arrived at our first destination and I was thinking about all the people I'd need to update and what would be the best way. So a Blog it is! I give no guarantees that I will update it on a regular basis, but I will do my best. I also give no guarantees that I will update it after I return from this little trip, but we will see how it goes.
On that note, we are looking for a good name for our Blog. We tried to come up with a word like "adventures" that started with a "k" or a "k" sound to go with KD, but didn't come up with anything. Turns out "kds-adventures" is taken so we will only have one adventure. If you have any suggestions for a better blog name please let us know. I tried to just get the KDs, but it too was already taken.
We have arrived. The travels here went well all things considered. Emily had a bit of a melt down when we first got on the plane. I could feel the fear from all the people around us worried that our baby would scream the entire way there. I have to admit, I was a bit worried that myself. After 2 screaming fits early on she settled in for the trip. In Emily's defence there was all sorts of exciting things happening on the plane and she was overtired.
Traveling with a baby has its benefits. The line up for security in Calgary was huge, but we got whisked to the front. The same happened in Frankfurt. Due to the dump of snow in Calgary just before we left we ended up delayed. The left us with only 30 minutes to make our connection in Frankfurt. Getting from terminal A to B wasn't bad, but getting to our gate took forever! We were sweating by the end of it. Emily loved it. She got to ride in the carrier the whole way. Conveniently by the time she got on the plane to get us to Vienna she was wiped. After a quick snack she sprawled out on Mom's lap for a good nap. The only concern was that the poop she did right before she feel asleep would leak... we got through without incident (thankfully).
We arrived in Hungary without a problem. Johnny picked us up and managed to get us home in once piece. We spent the first day amazed at how big Max has gotten since we were here last. We also played some Pit. If the person who gets the least amount of points wins then I was destroying everyone. I ended up with -120.
Mark and John are helping Max with his math homework. John and Mark spent the last 20 minutes arguing about how to solve the problem. In the end, it turns out Max mistranslated the problem. Yet another reason Johnny should be working on his Hungarian.
I will be sure to post some photos and tell you more about our first day in Hungary on the next entry. We haven't actually taken any photos yet so I we need to run out and get a few :-).
